How do I add a user with admin rights to my Ventrilo server?
Using the information
provided in your welcome letter, login to your Ventrilo server's Rcon:
1) Connect to the server.
2) Right click in the Ventrilo window.
3) Select Server Admin.
4) Select Login.
5) Enter global server administration password.
After you've logged in with the password (using the directions above),
you should notice the server name change and have an "A" in front where
there was none before. If that happens, you're now logged it with Admin
rights. There
is no other notification that you've successfully logged in.
After you've logged in,
you can create users:
1) Right click in the Ventrilo window.
2) Select Server Admin.
3) Select User Editor
4) Fill in the login/password, note that the "Login name" will appear
exactly as you type it in the Ventrilo window. So if you want your
clan/team/guild tags shown, type them as part of the username.
5) Give the user admin rights if you'd like.
To use the name you just
created:
1) Disconnect from the server.
2) Click on the "->" symbol next to the "User Name" field.
3) Click on "New"
4) Enter the name you previously created and click "OK", all the other
options are optionals.
5) Click on the "->" next to "Server" and edit your current
server connection profile (or create a new one with the server info
provided).
6) Fill in the password you created here on your server profile and
click "OK"
Now connect to the server and you should see the "A" next to your
server name. You now have admin rights and will be
able to create/delete channels, ban users, etc. |
